Industrial electricity prices
How much does a business’s electricity bill depend on where it operates? In the first half of 2026, this electricity price benchmark was nearly three times higher in Ireland than in Finland.
Key figures
- Ireland: 26.7 euro cents/kWh
- Italy: 22.5
- Germany: 20.6
- France: 15.7
- Spain: 13.4
- Finland: 9.3
What it means for a business
For a business consuming 1,000 MWh annually, applying these prices implies an electricity bill of approximately €267,000 in Ireland versus €93,000 in Finland.
That is roughly €174,000 a year in difference—for the same consumption.
For electricity-intensive businesses, energy prices can materially influence margins, investment decisions and location choices.
About the data
The map compares non-household customers consuming 500–1,999 MWh annually. Prices include supply, networks and non-recoverable taxes; VAT and recoverable taxes are excluded. These are consumption-band averages, not individual contract quotes.
